- As they enter the forest of the inner academy, the new students will be set upon by older students in order to take their flame credits but leaving a bit as per the rules, this is a tradition as well as a form of hazing
- Unlike previous years, Xiao Yan decides to go and steal the older students' flame credits instead and eventually forms an alliance with all the other new students. strength in numbers
- Bai Chi, I mean Bai Shan near the end of the forest trial abandons the alliance when facing a group of strong older students
- Xiao Yan and his alliance eventually beats all the older students and steals their flame credits, leaving them with a little as the rules dictates
- This course of action impresses the two Elders that opened the library doors and from then on Xiao Yan is noticed by the upper council of elders

Just a quick question, another user posted in the previous episode comments that this is supposed to be a turning point in the story for Xiao Yan, do you agree?

Personally, I feel it's not really because they are background characters who won't be around for long and are only around as part of some side story to entertain the masses while Xiao Yan searches for the flame.

I blocked that guy if that says anything. Xiao Yan's cultivation level is way too low to be significant in the cultivation world, if you go by "that" person's word, then every arc is a turning point since every moment changes him.

For example
- Nalan Yanran wishes to dissolve the engagement, it sets him off to get stronger TURNING POINT!! TURNING POINT!!
- He gains the beast flame and meets Yun Yun
- He gains a piece of the map which will help him significantly later on
- He becomes Yao Lao's disciple, now that is significant, TURNING POINT!! TURNING POINT!!
- He gains the Green Lotus Flame being one of the few people in the world to do so, especially at his age TURNING POINT!!
He gains another flame during the academy arc TURNING POINT, yeah yeah he gains others along the way anyway

Yes he learns a lot during the academy arc yes he gains another flame, yes he rapes Medusa, though the donghua will change that into Han Li X Nangong Wan moment But the actual turning point is we should focus on, is his cultivation level, when Xiao Yan goes to the Central Continent, that is where the real story begins it is when he realises he is just a frog at the bottom of a well when he is at Jiama Empire and the Academy, now that is the turning point. Not some arc here and there, as Xun'Er tells him before she leaves, she gives him a technique that requires him to be a Dou Wang before he can open the scroll which tells him he needs to be at least a Dou Wang before going to the Central Continent. and Xiao Yan proclaims later on that he will become a Dou Zun if he has to in order to find her, if that isnt enough to be a Dou Sheng if not enough then a Dou Di

He leaves Jiama Empire and the academy just before he hits Dou Zong, now that is the turning point for him, from being a country boy to a city boy

Of course everyone is entitled to believe whatever arc or point of the story is the turning point, but for me it is when he goes to the Central Continent

Only Dou Wang is able to form Dou Wings to be able to fly, Xiao Yan being the exception since he learned an unique Dou Technique that allows him to have wings (and no he didnt drink Red Bull)

Also as sword mentioned flying consumes a lot of Qi, though and yes flying will make them a target for those waiting to ambush them

They can't fly as only dou lings can fly as they get wings,and other techniques for floating and such consume way too much qi,so they cant be used for long distance travel,plus it would make them easy targets.

So our MC has to catch the golden snitch, where have I seen this before 🤔
